Dr Aboud accepts referrals for the medical and surgical management of eye conditions including cataracts, glaucoma and oculoplastics. Call today: (02) 6622 5999
I completed my medical training at the University of Queensland Medical School in 1990 and my specialist training in Ophthalmology in Brisbane in 1997.
In 1998, I underwent subspecialty training in strabismus surgery and medical treatment of retinal disease at the Eye Unit, Southampton General Hospital and the Portsmouth Regional Hospital in the United Kingdom.
I commenced private practice in Northern New South Wales in 1999. Rural practice has enabled me to gain a broad experience in the management of all ophthalmological conditions, including surgery for cataract, glaucoma, lid and lacrimal disease, and the medical management of retinal eye diseases.
For over 15 years, I have provided, along with other specialist ophthalmologist colleagues, a year-round after-hours service to the Northern New South Wales Local Health Network.
I have maintained a constant commitment to registrar training since 2000 in co-operation with the Sydney Eye Hospital Registrar training scheme and the Queensland Registrar training scheme.

In the event that you are not covered by your private health fund, and you are liable for the full amount of the cost of the procedure, we agree to provide you with a quote for the cost of the procedure. You will generally be entitled to a refund from Medicare for part of the cost of our fee.
This should enable you to decide if you would like to proceed with the surgery privately.
If you do not have Private Health cover and you are unable to accept the cost of the procedure that has been provided to you, we are able to provide you with treatment as a public patient at the Lismore Base Hospital for no cost. Waiting periods of less than 12 months generally apply.
